<p>Remember that it doesn&#8217;t have to just be online communities. Look for local moms or womens groups to advertise to moms there by building genuine relationships.</p>

<p align="left">How many times have you heard the old adage, &#8220;The customer doesn&#8217;t want a drill, he wants a hole in his wall&#8221;? While I may disagree with parts of that phrase, one thing is for sure&#8230; if you want to increase your advertising effectiveness, you have to stop selling what YOU want the customer to buy and start solving his problems.</p>
<p align="left">What exactly does that mean? For starters, it means finding out who your customers are and what challenges they face. It also means that your ad copy, your tag line, your Web site design, your brochure, your customer service plan and your support need to all work in concert to provide the solutions to those challenges.</p>
<p align="left">The most effective advertising pieces don&#8217;t sell&#8230; they fulfill. They don&#8217;t talk about the company&#8230; they talk about the customer. They don&#8217;t push price&#8230; they provide solutions.</p>
<p align="left">When you focus on the customer in your advertising copy, when you get inside the mind of your customer and speak to their emotional needs, you will see greater results.</p>
<p align="left">Here are 7 tips for creating copy that does not sell&#8230; but provides a solution.</p>
<blockquote>
<p align="left">1.<strong> Talk TO the customer, not ABOUT the company.</strong> Yes, you have to mention your company name so they&#8217;ll know who you are. But the majority of your copy should speak to the customer and his/her needs. Not: &#8220;ABC Web Site Designers has been in business for 13 years. We do great work. Our clients think this or that. We provide design, java and cgi. Our customer service can&#8217;t be beat. ABC is the best and you should use us.&#8221;</p>
<p align="left">2. <strong>Use &#8220;you&#8221; and &#8220;your&#8221;</strong> and write as if only one person were reading your ad or site. Make your copy personal.</p>
<p align="left">3. <strong>Get Real!</strong> Use real-life examples in your copy. Reach your customers on their level by identifying with them. Instead of something like, &#8220;You can get more organized and stay that way&#8221; say &#8220;You&#8217;ll be able to find your keys in 5 minutes or less and never again wonder if you or your spouse is supposed to pick up the kids today.&#8221;</p>
<p align="left">4. <strong>Get emotional!</strong> Most buying decisions are emotional. Your ad copy should be, too! Bring out their frustration, their anger, their greed. Whatever the situation calls for, use those emotions in your copy. Example: &#8220;After you throw the plunger across the room and SCREAM&#8230; call ABC Plumbing.&#8221;</p>
<p align="left">5. <strong>Benefits, benefits, benefits.</strong> I know you&#8217;ve heard it 1,000 times, but you simply must fill your copy with benefits. Always answer the question, &#8220;What&#8217;s in it for me?&#8221;</p>
<p align="left">6. <strong>Show them they&#8217;ll get results.</strong> Tell your customers what life will be like AFTER your product or service solves all their problems. By showing them that they will get their desired end result, you make a very persuasive argument for your product.</p>
<p align="left">7. <strong>Be their friend.</strong> Let your copy portray you as &#8220;easy-to-like&#8221;. Show your customer that you&#8217;re their friend who is willing and able to help instead of just another business who wants them to buy.</p>
</blockquote>
<p align="left">When you put the focus on the people with the money&#8230; the people who keep your business up and going, you can work wonders with your copy. You&#8217;ll see your sales improve if you just quit selling!</p>

What they would rather happen is click on the ad banner, and be taken to another <strong>Facebook Page</strong>. You can create wonderful, interactive Facebook pages that offer group discussions, newsletter sign up features, and even a way to order your products and services. If you design your Facebook advertisement this way Facebook users will not be as irritated about clicking on your advertisement.</p>
<p>Before you advertise it&#8217;s important to do market research in order to <strong>create effective advertising campaigns</strong>. If you&#8217;re advertising to moms, for instance, your advertisement can&#8217;t really just go out to &#8220;all moms&#8221;. All moms is not a target market. Be very specific about your target. If you&#8217;re posting work at home advertising directed toward Moms you want to know which mom this business fits.  It doesn&#8217;t fit all moms, it might fit  moms who care about home schooling, or moms who breastfeed, or moms who are into green living, or moms who love do it yourself decorating projects. It&#8217;s imperative that you determine these factors before you advertise.</p>
<p>In addition to researching your target audience the other market research you should do is find out if your product or service is actually filling a niche that needs to be filled. If you already have competition so much the better. It&#8217;s easier to sell something that has competition because you already know there is a need. Essentially someone else has done the research. But, if your product or service is completely new and no one else is doing it, it would behoove you to determine if this is something that really is needed before you embark on an advertising campaign on Facebook or anywhere.</p>
<p>Knowing who is spending money and on what is an important aspect of finding out where to advertise as well as what to advertise. There are so many places to advertise that what might be hot to one niche is not working in another. Facebook ads work in very specific circumstances, ensure that your niche fits that condition before you advertise. Knowing where to advertise is just part of the whole issue. Whether it is free advertising on the web, or advertising networks devoted to advertising to moms, or an ad exchange, ad network, or something else entirely, doing the research before you advertise will increase your return on investment (ROI).</p>

The  good feelings it evokes in consumers is priceless for the entrepreneur.  If you have something that you can give away as a sample or premium, it will boost your home business due to the good will it will evoke. Everyone loves free samples, or a bonus gifts with purchase!</p>
<h3><strong>Send out promotions or samples with your sales </strong></h3>
<p>Free samples are very popular around the holidays. Clients and potential clients love getting free samples. Prospects who have been given a free sample often end up being a paying client. Consider offering a special promotional price for &#8220;new clients&#8221; so that they can try you out. If you have a way to give new clients and potential new clients free samples of your work you&#8217;re well on your way to getting a permanent new client.</p>

<p>There are always businesses that sell or provide services that are complementary to yours. For instance, if you offer graphic services, and someone else offers a place to put ads, you both can work out a deal that you will offer to create the graphics for those who want to place ads for a discount. Or another example is that you can get several different people who all provide complementary services or products to have a teleseminar together promoting their businesses together. Also you can create together an entirely new product. Many businesses partner to create a single, new product or services together. When either business males a sell, the other gets a percentage of sales. You can also gain exposure each others, newsletters, websites or even strike deals to access their client base.</p>
<h3><strong>Personalize your  Banner &amp; Graphical Holidays Ads</strong></h3>
<p>One drawback to banner ads is that Internet users are so immune to seeing them that many just ignore ads entirely. This is why that it&#8217;s so important to test and track results of every advertising campaign that you run. If you want results from your banner ads you will need to create a strong graphically attractive campaign with an effective call-to-action. Sometimes ads are created simply for branding purposes and not just to make sales, which is where the strong graphic component can pay off handsomely.</p>

<blockquote><p>The ad generator is a generative artwork that explores how advertising uses and manipulates language. Words and semantic structures from real corporate slogans are remixed and randomized to generate invented slogans. These slogans are then paired with related images from Flickr, thereby generating fake advertisements on the fly. By remixing corporate slogans, I intend to show how the language of advertising is both deeply meaningful, in that it represents real cultural values and desires, and yet utterly meaningless in that these ideas have no relationship to the products being sold. In using the Flickr images, the piece explores the relationship between language and image, and how meaning is constructed by the juxtaposition of the two.</p></blockquote>

You say that your market is “moms” &#8212; but what does that mean, is your market “granola moms’ or “SUV moms?” Is your target market breast-feeding moms or formula feeding moms? How a target market of moms with nannies or moms without nannies? Are the moms you market to single moms, married moms, straight moms or lesbian moms? How old are the moms in your market? Do you know? I think you get the picture. Your target market cannot be all moms; it must be much narrower than that.</p>
<p>Before you advertise or choose where to advertise, it is important to laser target your market down to the nitty-gritty. You need all the details about your market so that you know, not only who they are, but what do they want? What gets your target marketing excited? What makes them want to buy something from you? What kind of problems can you solve for your target market? Creating an advertising campaign is a lot simpler when you know the practical details of your target audience.</p>
<p>There is no mistaking that moms are a fabulous target market, but you have to know all the demographics of your particular mom market before you start your advertising campaign. Know what motivates your mom market to make a purchasing decision. Know your mom market’s needs, wants, desires and fears and seek to answer their problems with great products. Your advertising should focus on benefits of their product or service, so that you can demonstrate to your target audience how your product or service solves their problems.</p>
<p>The bottom line is that not every mom can love you. Not every mom will want what you have to offer. It is important to discover exactly who that mom is that you will target with all your advertising campaigns, all your text ads, blog posts, article-marketing articles and for whom you will create products. You must do this if you want to be successful. It takes time to discover exactly who your target market is, but once you do that, you’ll see a larger return on investment than you ever thought possible.</p>
<p>Once you identify your target audience and start marketing to your mom audience it is up to you to educate your market about your offerings. Don’t be worried that there is competition out there for the same market. The truth of the matter is, having competition is a sure sign that your idea can be successful. If there is no competition at all, it is unlikely that you will be successful. If others have gone before you and been successful that proves that you can do it too.</p>

Perhaps you skipped a few important steps before trying out an advertisement. You must take a few steps before you advertise no matter whether your advertising is in a newspaper, magazine, or online. If you skip over any of these steps, you will not see a good return on your investment (ROI). To ensure your success with your advertising first you must:</p>
<p><strong>Target your market</strong> – You should know the sex, age range, desires, needs, wants and fears of your target market before placing the first advertisement. If you do not know the demographics of your target market, it is impossible to write a good blog post, much less a sales page or advertisement.</p>
<p>Your target market is not “anyone” who wants to use your services. This is a huge mistake to make when marketing your home business and writing advertisements. You must laser target your market down to the practical details if you want to have real success. Choosing a target market allows you to focus all your marketing materials toward specific people, which will actually increase your sales exponentially. It’s also simpler to write an ad if you know who the ad is for.</p>
<p><strong>Choose keywords</strong> – Once you have your target market pegged, you can now start doing keyword research. You can use various methods to research keywords for your advertisements such as Google webmaster tools, Keyword Elite, WordTracker and others. Some of keyword research comes naturally if you know your target market well because you probably already have an idea of which words and phrases they would use to find your information.</p>
<p>Once you’ve chosen at least 100 relevant keywords and keyword phrases, then you will want to find out what these keywords are worth on the network you’re placing your advertisement so that you know how much you will need to spend. Usually for a home business just throw out the expensive competitive words and phrases concentrating on the less expensive phrases that do not have as much competition. Many times the popular but less competitive phrases can get you the most targeted traffic that will purchase.</p>
<p><strong>Design your ad</strong> – Based on the keywords you’ve chosen, and the market research you’ve completed, as well as the venue you will use to place the ad now you will want to design the advertisement. Typically, it is a good idea to design two or three sales pages that have one small difference so that you can test conversion rates. You will also need to determine if you’re using text based ads or banner ads or buttons.</p>
<p><strong>Test &amp; Evaluate</strong> – There is a lot of disagreement about which ads work best – text ads or banner ads. Testing is the best way to determine your results. Test a banner ad against a text ad using the same keywords and see which one converts better. Test three different sales pages that only have one difference each using the same keywords see which one converts better. Also, always examine which keywords are producing the most traffic. Once you find the most fruitful keywords, you can delete the unproductive keywords bidding on only the most productive words.</p>
<p><strong>Do it again</strong> – When you have success repeat the success over and over again to take your home business advertising to the next level.</p>

Increasing the traffic to your website is critically important, and below we&#8217;ll go over a couple of ways to increase it for your blog and how to involve it directly into your Internet marketing strategy.</p>

<p>The basic idea behind a link exchange is to post the link of another blog on your blog, and they will do the same for you. The trick is to get a high-traffic blog to link to your blog.</p>
<p>How can you do this? Well, the most straightforward way is to create a piece of compelling content that other people will want to read, and to get someone to link to it. This can be challenging, but it can also be very rewarding. You could probably achieve this effect by sending email requests to a large number of other blogs, but if you don&#8217;t have a blog that they find interesting, then you probably shouldn&#8217;t expect them to link to your blog. With this in mind, make sure to stay within your topic niche.</p>
<p><strong>Blog Carnivals</strong></p>
<p>A blog carnival is basically a widely-read, community link exchange. The particularly great thing about blog carnivals is not that they have high reader levels (they do), but that each visitor to a blog carnival is actually looking for the type of content that you create. By creating great content and regularly submitting it to a blog carnival, you can expect a very large increase in the number of web hits, and thus advertising revenue, that you receive.</p>
<p>While there are certainly other ways to generate large increases of traffic to your blog, these are two of the easiest and most straightforward. Regardless of if you use other methods, such as word of mouth advertising, you should most definitely utilize these great tools.</p>

Selling advertising is a good way to do that. Whether you have blogs, websites, videos, or seminars, selling advertising and sponsorships is another way to make money. Selling advertising can be quite lucrative. What type of advertising you take will depend entirely on who your niche market is.</p>
<p><strong>Then you can do one or all of the following:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Form a network</strong> – Find other websites that share your viewership. For instance if your target market is moms with infants, you can recruit other website owners who blog about things that moms with infants need to know about. Once you have ten to twenty websites within your network then you can start your advertising network.</p>
<p><strong>Chose the software</strong> &#8212; You will need to have a mechanism to accept payment for the ads and for people who want to place the advertising to send you their artwork, as well as a way for you to place the ads on your site. You can invest in software that can handle the advertising automatically. What type of software you choose will largely depend on the platform of the various websites and blogs you include in your network.</p>

<p><strong>Create ad inventory</strong> – Know exactly how many advertisements you have to sell, where they can be placed, what size the ads can be, and what type of ads you will accept.  Know up front exactly what your inventory is so that anyone wanting to place an advertisement knows how everything works. Develop a matrix that shows in pictures examples of ad sizes and types.</p>
<p><strong>Promote your offerings</strong> – Create a sales page about the benefits of advertising within your network. Explain what different types of ads they can place, and how they will be charged as well as what metrics you offer. Anything that you can include in your descriptions that help the advertiser, and would be beneficial to help choose your network over another network. Be very specific and clear.</p>
<p>Whether you have a network or not you can still sell advertising and sponsorships on your single website, blog, or podcast. If you have a good following, start by simply offering sponsorships for one thing at a time. Reach out to your list members, as well as complementary groups and sites on places like Facebook, Linkedin.com and Twitter.com.</p>
